Barack Obama and the Black Sox Parable

A person on twitter asked me:

So you hope your team loses because you don’t like the captain? That’s treason my friend.

This analogy isn’t quite accurate so let me share the story of the 1919 Chicago “Black Sox” and create a better one.

As the story goes, eight members of the team were part of a conspiracy to purposefully lose the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds.

Lets say there were several groups of fans out there. The first group would be the Reds fans wanted their team to win. The next three groups would all be White Sox fans but would consist of three sub groups. The first would be those who loved their team but didn’t know of the conspiracy and was rooting for their team to win. The second would be those who said they loved their team but knew of the conspiracy and were gaining by betting money against them. The third would be those who loved the team and knew of the conspiracy and were hoping that something would happen to those players in order to prevent them from purposefully losing the World Series. They would have been actively rooting for those players to fail in their conspiracy while simultaneously rooting for the team to somehow pull off the victory.

This is the situation we face in America. We are in a battle against a foreign enemy, as represented by the Cincinnati Reds, that is trying to defeat us and bring America down. This enemy includes many nations who have hated America for a long time. There is also a domestic enemy, represented by those who originated the conspiracy and paid off the eight players, that has been trying to tear down this country from the inside by eroding our education system, taking over our courts, tearing apart our societal foundations, and removing God from our nation’s past. The eight corrupted players are those in America’s Government actively making choices that will lead to our defeat.

The fans are the citizens of the nations involved. The White Sox fans represent the citizens of America. There are some who know what is going on and are contributing to the defeat of our country. Organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, ACORN, and so on are helping to advance the decline of American values and gain significant wealth from the politicians. They are the equivalent of the fans who had inside information and were betting for the White Sox to lose the series. The fans that didn’t know of the conspiracy and were rooting for their favorite players represent the citizens in America who voted for the current administration and those in office on the hopes they would change America for the better, or win the World Series if you will. These fans were probably a little confused as the series went on and their team kept losing some games. They were probably also confused by some of the strange events such as poor pitching performances, timely strikeouts, and uncharacteristic errors but continued to root for their team to pull it out in the end. The final group are those of us who see the strange events, know something is going on and want our team to win. We are the citizens who have seen the events taking place in past nations and know where these events lead. We are not rooting for our team, America, to lose but we are rooting for the failure of those who are leading us down that path. We love our country and do not want it to end up like so many other nations that were once free but fell to charismatic leaders who did not have the country’s best interest at heart.

There are people in this country who are rooting for the failure of our current administration because they recognize the events taking place. They recognize that there are people working to destroy America and cannot sit by and allow that to happen. The final outcome is yet to be determined but there are forces at work willing to do everything they can to bring that destruction to fruition. I hope it does not end like the 1919 World Series. As the series went on, it appeared that some of the eight players had a change of heart and tried to turn it around and pull out a victory but by that point it was too late. The wheels were in motion and they were too far invested to pull out and the orchestrators of the conspiracy made sure they followed through.

I just hope and pray for America that we have not reached that point of no return. The world will be a dark place should we fail.

I’ve read this twice. Could you elaborate on the conspiracy? Who is behind it, and what are their goals?

It is not necessarily a conspiracy in the same sense as the World Series because it is quite open and out there for everyone to observe. There has been an attempt over many decades to turn America into a secular humanist socialistic society like that of many European countries.

The groups involved (whether you call them The Left, Liberals, Democrats, or whatever) have flooded the courts with far left wing judges who make law from the bench. They have taken over the public school systems by removing any mention or teaching of God and the Bible by falsely imposing the “wall of separation of Church and State”. They have eroded our societal values by first defining human life as a “choice” that a mother can terminate if she does not want to have a child. They have saturated our society with sex, degraded woman by turning them into objects, and have destroyed the nuclear two parent family by making divorce easier. Men have ditched their role as the leader of the family and take no responsibility for their wife and kids. They have made single parent homes a commonality and are now trying to destroy the sanctity of marriage by opening it up to anything other than what it has always been, 1 man and 1 woman. Our society has replaced competition and hard work with self-esteem. Truth has been replaced with relativism and what you believe to be true for you is your own truth but truth can be different for all. They have created a class warfare by pitting the lower class against the upper class by convincing them that they are wealthy because of an unfair system. They have created a welfare state that makes millions of citizens reliant on government to take care of basic needs. They are now trying to take away free speech and free markets by silencing critics of their policies. They are trying to label Biblical teaching as hate speech if you speak out against a “protected class”. The list goes on and it has all happened before. They are eroding our freedoms and liberties and have replaced the Creator as the giver of our rights with the Government as the giver of our rights. Government is the problem, not the solution and becomes oppressive when it becomes less localized and more centralized. Their goal is to give the power to the few to lord over the many. It is all out there to see if you open your eyes and recognize the patterns of history.

Please stop listening to haters like pat robertson and jerry falwell and those who are part of the war manufacters. just becase i’m not what u believe a christian is supposed to be does not mean that i’m a threat to you. This is my country too. And when we meet in a public forum we should put our ideology aside so we can improve our country. Please stop trying to ram your beliefs down others throats who don’t believe like you do until you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you are right. Let’s move on to things we can work out. Like educating our children with the tools they will need to prosper as adults. you can teach your children what you want about religion at home. And I will tell mine what I believe at home and let them decide for themselves what they want to believe on their own. Peace

I do not and listen to Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. I think for myself and base my thoughts on God’s Word and what I observe in the world. I never said you personally are a threat or anyone like you but the ideology that I outlined which is destroying our society is. I have not rammed any beliefs down anyone’s throat. I have merely expressed my beliefs and people are free to accept them, reject them, or counter them. That is the idea of free speech and expression. Those who have perverted America’s culture are the true perpetrators of ramming beliefs down the throats of America by forcing laws and changing the culture through courts and our education system.

How can someone “put their ideology” aside? Ideology is a set of beliefs about a political or economic system. The only way to put those aside to solve problems would be for every individual to do as they please. I can not put away my intrinsic beliefs about government, education, taxes, etc without giving up my values; the two are too closely related.

I believe that people should have the right of self-determination and be self-sufficient. If I drop that part of my ideology in the name of solving problems, then someone else’s ideology will more than likely be forced on me.

Example: As a conservative, I cannot simply ignore the issue of gay marriage. The Left believes that the Right is forcing their values on them by not allowing gay marriage, and of course, the right believes the Left is forcing their values on them by making us accept gay marriage. You cannot take ideology out of this.

People often argue “ideology” when they really get down to “values.” I cannot and will not give up my values in public discourse.

“You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.” – Winston Churchill

Caro,

Very well said. Society and the role of government is a constant battle of ideology until one side wins and the other side surrenders. Only then will “peace” and “bipartisanship” truly happen.

To David GRoss also, it is not my job to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that God exists. He has already done that when He came down to earth to live a perfect life, died for our sins on the cross, and rose again three days later. That was the proof He said He would give us. Now it is up to every person to decide what they want to do with that proof.

Do we in this country truly have convictions or just what is P. C. we have so lost view of what we feel and worry so much of what someone else will think. We must hold to what we know to be right, I hate no one and hope nothing bad to them, but I can’t let my beliefs be told to me by anyone. I don’t see anything getting better in washingtion till they do the best thing and not the party thing. How sad to not vote for the right bill just because it came from the other side. Let’s focus on the best for us not the best for the parties, cause their lives aren’t in turmoil are they.
