A Scary New World

What is going on in America today is frightening though not surprising. I said long before the election that if we put these far Left leaders in charge we are going to see a radically different America in 2009 and I even said that it would happen very rapidly. They have almost complete power lacking only 1 solid Left Justice on the Supreme Court from being able to do anything they want.
This “health care” attachment to the bill is one of those things. When I was a teacher, I would tell my students that there would come a time that we in America would look at elderly citizens as a burden and start rationalizing their “termination” when it became convenient for us to do so. They thought I was an idiot but we live in a country that does that very thing to the unborn. Over 40 million unborn human beings have been murdered in the name of “reproductive rights”, “women’s rights”, “choice”, and “compassion”. The existence of abortion and the killing of so many innocent babies is easily the biggest stain on America’s 200+ year history. These babies have been renamed “fetuses” because it sounds better when you “terminate” a fetus rather than when you kill a baby. There is a case currently in Florida where members of an abortion clinic are being charged with murder because they took a 23 week old baby who was born after a botched abortion and put her in a biohazard bag before throwing her into the trash. People are outraged by this but just five minutes early, they would have been ok with killing this baby because she was inside the womb. It is sick, perverted, debased, and outrageous that this goes on in a civilized country with our technology and all in the name of “progressive thought”. Our President even voted against an Illinois bill as a State Senator that would require “Doctors” to do everything they could to provide medical assistance for such babies who survived botched abortions.
Now, as written about by Tom Daschle who was slated to become the Secretary of Health and Human Services, we are going to put into law a bill that takes decisions out of the hands of Doctors and puts them into the hands of Federal Bureaucrats to determine how we treat patients. As the article states, this will most greatly affect the elderly because their conditions may require expensive treatments and they are the most expendable. The Doctors will not be permitted to treat them as they see fit if it is determined that the treatment is too expensive or does not fit the criteria as determined by those working for the Government.
Is this really the change we wanted when we handed unrestrained power to Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Joe Biden, Barney Frank, Chuch Schumer, Hillary Clinton, and so on? I don’t think change included sending tax payer money to other countries so they can now use it to kill their own unborn. I don’t think it included using tax payer money to tell elderly patients who need an expensive treatment, “Sorry, your diagnosis is treatable but we just can’t approve it because of the cost, we will make your death as pain free as possible and can assist you in dying with dignity if you would like.” I don’t think it included the possibility of spending close to $4 Trillion (that is $4,000,000,000,000 or four million million dollars) within the first couple months of office.
We are living in very dangerous days and people need to face that reality. I am not sure if it is too late to turn back but it is close. I heard somebody say once that the only thing that lasts forever is a Federal spending program. We are about to make into law many of those that will change America as we know it and once that happens, it may be too late. We may be seeing the end of America as we once knew it. If that is the case, start looking up because we will only have one last hope.
